French 75

French 75

The French 75 is a classic cocktail that has a long and storied history. It was first created in Paris during World War I, and it quickly became a popular drink among the city's fashionable elite.

The French 75 gets its name from the powerful kick of its main ingredient, gin, which was said to be similar to the feeling of being hit by the French 75mm artillery gun. The drink was later popularized in the United States, where it has remained a classic cocktail to this day.

One fun fact about the French 75 is that it was a favorite of Ernest Hemingway, who is said to have enjoyed the drink while working as a journalist in Paris during the 1920s.
