 Manhattan

The Manhattan cocktail is a classic mixed drink that has been enjoyed for over a century. It is made with whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters, and is typically served in a cocktail glass.

The origins of the Manhattan cocktail are a bit murky, but it is generally believed to have been created in the late 1800s at a bar in New York City's Manhattan neighborhood. There are a few different stories about the exact circumstances of its creation, but the most widely accepted version is that it was created at the Manhattan Club in New York City in the early 1870s. The drink was served at a banquet hosted by Lady Randolph Churchill, the mother of Winston Churchill, and it quickly became popular among the city's elite.

Since its creation, the Manhattan cocktail has become a staple at bars and cocktail parties around the world. It is a sophisticated and flavorful drink that is perfect for sipping on a warm summer evening or as an after-dinner treat.

One fun fact about the Manhattan cocktail is that it was featured in the classic film "The Godfather," in which the character Michael Corleone sips on a Manhattan while discussing business with his family.

To make a Manhattan cocktail, you will need the following

Add the whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters to the mixing glass.

Stir the ingredients until well combined and chilled.

Strain the mixture into a cocktail glass.
